Las Vegas Adds Personality to TSA Videos with Local Celebrities

Most of the TSA’s tip videos, seen in airports countrywide, are something watched more out of boredom than necessity as flyers wait in line to take off their shoes and walk through a scanner. But Las Vegas is switching it up by adding Sin City’s comedians to the usually bland reminders.

The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Bureau and McCarran International Airport worked together to produce a set of 8 videos combining well-known Vegas acts and TSA rules.

The videos, which run from 22 seconds to 56 seconds, feature comedian Carrot Top, magician Murray, the Blue Man Group and ventriloquist Terry Fator.

The stars’ appearances give the video a dual-purpose of both alerting flyers to rules and best practices and raising awareness of all the acts available in the city.

“Our goal is to ensure we provide an unparalleled experience to each and every person that visits Las Vegas,” Cathy Tull, senior vice president of marketing for the LVCVA said in a statement. “These videos not only provide that experience but also deliver necessary information to guests in a fun and unique way.”

Las Vegas was the first city to ever customize the informative TSA videos in 2004.
