I walked through an airy archway where mood lighting glinted my way. Everything was white and silvery and had new plane smell. It seemed more like a chic, minimalist bar designed by Philippe Starck than a sideways skyscraper with seats on the inside and wings on the outside. I wasn’t sure if I should order a martini or locate an overhead bin for my stuff.
What I was about to experience is the “new” American Airlines… The wide-bodied jetliner is more fuel efficient and technology friendly, too. Power outlets and USB ports at all seats keep iPads, laptops and other gadgetry fully charged, and the plane is the first in the fleet to offer wi-fi during international flights.
