What would happen if you built a travel site using only Instagram pics?

Instagram’s great for personal travel photos, but if you want to build a site to inspire people to travel, at least show them real pics.

It isn’t a hypothetical, it has happened and it is called Gallivant. Where every place you travel, every hotel you book, it all looks the same. Where anywhere is everywhere.

From the presumably smart guys who gave us the slick and very popular Uncrate & Devour come this new-ish travel site, “a new online publication for men who seek the best places to stay, shop, eat, drink, and be merry…Not relegated to fancy-schmancy restaurants or upscale hotels, Gallivant curates the places real men want to frequent, introducing them to hidden gems and old standbys alike from across the world.”

Ignore the “fact” that “real men” are apparently one homogenous and definable unit, the site surely seems to be that, homogenous. If every of these “epic accommodations” are one like the other, if every bar haunt looks exactly the same, if every awesome thing you want to do is the same thing as the other, if everyplace you go is a blueish-hue faux nostalgic filter, why go?

Think about that. And while you are, watch this:
