Limited commuter services in New York reopen on Wednesday afternoon

Limited services on the Long Island Rail Road and Metro-North Railroad will begin Wednesday afternoon, announced Governor Andrew M. Cuomo. Limited subway services will begin above 34^th Street on Thursday morning and will be supplemented by bus services for residents in downtown Manhattan and Brooklyn. Local, Limited-Stop, and Express Bus services have been running for free through Manhattan today.

All bridges operated by the MTA Bridges Tunnels are open to traffic, although The Hugh L. Carey and Queens Midtown Tunnels remain closed.

Newark International Airport reopened this morning followed by JFK Airport this afternoon; however, the only way to reach airport from Manhattan and surround neighborhoods is by car. Mass transit stoppages aren’t only keeping passengers from the airports, but flight attendants, gate attendants, and other key employees as well.

The Gothamist posted an updated list of MTA operating agencies including New York City Transit, Long Island Rail Road, Metro-North and Bridges and Tunnels at 2 pm today.
