White House touts Obama visit to “Hoover Damn”

  • Skift Take
Fact-checking is all the rage during the 2012 Presidential campaign, typos or misinformed email marketers notwithstanding.

Maybe it was actually a veiled plea for more federal education funding, but the White House today emailed its daily snapshot of President Obama, with the subject line, “Photo: Visiting the Hoover Damn.”

Well, damn, as most of the roughly 1 million annual visitors to the mega tourist site on the Arizona-Nevada border undoubtedly know, it’s the Hoover Dam, not Hoover Damn.

Obama visited the Hoover Dam October 2, taking a brief timeout from his preparations for tonight’s debate against GOP candidate Mitt Romney in Denver.

We are sure the subject line blunder was unintentional, but at least the White House should hire a good editor for its email marketing of the President.

Or perhaps all of the scribes were busy writing one-liners for tonight’s debate.
