Tasmania gets tourism boost from growing number of cruise visits

The number of cruise ships visiting Tasmania continues to grow with the biggest liner so far due to dock in November.

A Hobart conference of cruise ship operators has been told about 50 cruise ships will visit Hobart and Burnie this season, bringing an estimated 70,000 people.

“Cruise shipping in Tasmania has reported strong growth which results in more ships coming to Tasmania, more passengers, which is really resulting in an increase in expenditure and value to the local economy.”
