Fly Georgia airline launches with service to Black Sea resort

  • Skift Take
It’s tough enough launching an airline, but it’s doubly hard to pull it off in a former Soviet republic with a feisty Russia looking over your shoulder.

New Georgian Airlines FLY GEORGIA will begin operating in the first half of August. It brought the first AIRBUS airliner to Georgia on Saturday.

The aircraft made in 2009 landed at Tbilisi airport on July 28 morning. It will be ready to make the first flight to Batumi in a few days.

New comfortable AIRBUS has a modern design and detail-oriented service.

“It’s a great day for the new company and the Georgian people,” FLY GEORGIA director general John Kolfa said.
