La Quinta Inns & Suites introduced a new design model today that incorporates most of the popular hospitality trends today.
Guest experience research influenced the new prototype, Del Sol, which incorporates design and smaller spaces to save customers money, larger community areas including a larger fitness area, and of course new technology to appeal to device-obssessed guests.
The company’s press release uses catch phrases like ”scalable building design” and “efficient use of land” to describe how it’s aiming to increase profit margins by improving the experience elements that guests today really care about — Wi-Fi, outlets, workout areas, and sophisticated design — without having to increase prices or the hotel’s costs.
The rethink comes at a time when most major hotel brands are introducing design elements that appeal to connected business travelers and millennials. Examples of other hotel chain’s design-friendly initiatives include Marriott’s upcoming Moxy launch and Cambria Hotels and Suites’ redesigned lobbies and rooms.
