  • Skift Take
Travelers are demanding complimentary Wi-Fi everywhere they go and hotels and airports are responding in hopes of drawing customers away from their competitors.

North American luxury hotel group Loews Hotels & Resorts announced this week that Internet access would be free for all guests. Loews owns or operates 18 hotels in the United States and Canada.

“Prompt, reliable Internet access has become a necessary and expected hotel amenity,” said Paul Whetsell, Loews Hotels & Resorts CEO said in a statement.

“We’re delighted to be one of the first hotel brands in our category to offer complimentary Wi-Fi access to each and every one of our guests.”

Loews previously charged between $15 and $20 for Internet access, depending on the location. As comparison, Four Season Hotels charges $12 per every 2 devices for 24 hours of Wi-Fi access
