Hotel room-in-a-box, for those urban empty spaces

  • Much as we have made fun of the pop-up hotel concept here — a hip phrase for the sake of being hip, our reasoning goes — a new design concept called Hotello surely looks promising for temporary accommodations in the empty city lofts. Designed by Swiss architect Antonio Scarponi in collaboration with visual artist Robert de Luca for the Swiss firm Daskonzept, Hotello is 4 sqm trunk with all the necessary ingredients to make a temporary “hotel” room, so to speak: a room, a desk, a lamp, a stool, a shelf, a locker. It consists of a metal structure that supports a double curtains (translucent and sound absorbant) as well as all the furniture needed to work and rest.
