Las Vegas highest in hospitality salaries, expensive NYC much less

Workers in hospitality earn considerably more money in Las Vegas than in any other major U.S. market. The typical Las Vegas worker is paid an average of $28,700 per year. That’s more than $6,000 ahead of any other major market, according to latest U.S. Census numbers.

The runners-up behind Las Vegas are New York City ($22,600 per employee), Honolulu ($21,600) and San Francisco-Oakland ($21,000). The sector’s average salary is $17,300 in all major markets, based on a total payroll of $135.97 billion and employment of 7.87 million.
