As EU officials have pointed out, the regulations aren't a surprise. If the anti-scheme lobby is serious about coming up with a global alternative (which they likely aren't), they need to stop hiding behind the UN and local laws.

It's obvious why the TSA doesn't want to hold the hearings: The anti-TSA crowd hyperventilates merely upon mention of its initials. But the agency needs to add a layer of transparency if it ever wants to get the public back on its side.
