weekly_startup_fundingEach week we roundup the latest crop of travel startups that have received or announced funding that week. The total amount raised this week was $49.5 million.

Here is one company that announced it raised funding this week. Skift also covered Pan-African booking site Travelstart’s funding earlier this week. See previous roundups here.

>>StayNTouch raised a $9.5 million Series A round from new investors Shiji Ltd., Triangle Peak Partners, Stanford University and Acceleprise and existing investor Concur bringing the Bethesda, Maryland-based startup’s total funding to $13.25 million.

StayNTouch’s cloud-based hotel property management system empowers hotel staff to perform functions via tablet and mobile devices. It also allows guests to self check-in and out and view their hotel folio and receive upgrade promotions from their smartphones.

This investment comes from Concur’s Perfect Trip Fund which led the round and previously participated in StayNTouch’s $2.1 million seed round in 2013.

StayNTouch’s client list includes MGM Resorts International, Yotel and resorts such as The Fontainebleau. Since its founding in 2012 StayNTouch has signed dozens of properties in the U.S and Europe and sees continued growth in these regions, along with near-term expansion in Asia.
