A warm meal is an easy way to get a bit of loyalty love from flyers.

What to Know Now

In the midst of globally overhauling its catering program, United announced last month that it would be bringing free snacks to its top-tier 1K (100,000 miles flown each year) and Global Service members. Selections include anything from the in-flight Choice Menu — which has some pretty hearty options.

Feel food for top elites in economy isn’t a particularly revolutionary move — American already awards its Executive Platinum members with a similar benefit — but the improvement is a huge step for United’s elite members. Already, United upgrades are pretty tough to get due to swollen elite ranks, so any perk on top of the economy experience is welcome. And to this point, United needs it loyal customers to be happy.

This news also comes on top of general good news that United is finally starting to get its act together, per Ted Reed at Forbes. Perhaps 2016 will be the year that United finally starts to shine.
