Norwegian Cruise Line is reversing course on a ban on doggie bags.
The Miami-based cruise line recently instituted a rule that banned passengers from taking food from a ship’s restaurants back to their cabins.
President and Chief Operating Officer Andy Stuart said Tuesday that the cruise line “simply didn’t understand how important it was” to passengers who wanted the option of eating in their rooms.
Stuart said the ban on taking leftovers back to the cabins was prompted by a “leadership team ship inspection” that found dirty trays, plates and glasses in hallways.
The Miami Herald reports that the cruise line upgraded its room service offerings this spring but added a $7.97 charge per order.
