We’re launching the second annual edition of the Skifties awards that recognize the best travel brands in social media, sponsored by American Express.
Skifties 2015 has 30 categories that will award companies that excelled amongst their peers. We’ll choose one ultimate winner to be the Smartest Travel Brand on Social Media.
There are 17 main categories that will award the best brand by platform — Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube — and by sector — airlines, airports, attractions, booking sites and services, cruise lines, tourism boards, hotel brands, individual hotels and resorts, tour and travel providers, travel media and B2B travel tech companies.
Five of the categories are part of the Editor’s Choice selections that include the Most Integrated Campaign, Best Multi-Account Strategy, Most Innovative, Best Underdog Travel Brand, and Best Travel Startup.
This year we added eight categories to recognize specialized efforts in video, contests, Twitter chat, vendors, agencies, influencers; and lastly, the most engaged community across a wider net of platforms — including Pinterest, Tumblr, Vine, and Snapchat — in addition to social customer service.

The Skifties’ main criteria include growth, quality and results, not just popularity or volume. We look forward to honoring the best of the best, based on the level of business impact regardless of organic and paid approach.
To qualify for the Skifties, brands must be active for the entirety of the period of May 1, 2014 to April 30, 2015, which is also the eligible work period. Entries are open today, Monday, May 19 and materials are due by Monday, June 29. Each entry is $295, with one free entry for every three you submit.
