This is the First Google Glass App to Let Users Book Hotels

Skift Take

There are too few travelers with Google Glass to make a hotel booking app useful -- outside of the PR buzz -- at this point.

Although Google Glass has yet to take off with the public, travel companies are eager to develop and launch products for the hardware early.

Hotel Near Me, which claims to be the first hotel booking app for Google Glass, officially launched to the public today. Hotel Near Me was developed by online travel agency and Glob3Mobile.

With the app, users wearing Google Glass will be shown the closest hotel to their current location, scan through other nearby hotels, and filter them based on price. Users can then tap the Glass in order to see more information about the hotel including photos, hotel services, and its exact location.

Users can then select and book the hotel with Destinia directly through Glass.

Hotel brands are also eager to test out the new platform. Starwood Hotels and Resorts officially launched its Google Glass app this week as well, but users can not book directly through Glass.
