Google’s vertical ascent was the next stop in its mapping conquest that started with roads and progressed to include natural wonders and indoors. Destinations can hope for an increase in interest in monuments that can be hyped with the online views.

Monday morning, Google released interactive views both inside and outside of Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world.

According to the company, this is the first time it has captured a skyscraper for Street View, part of Google’s expansion in the Middle East, which started with Israel last year.
