Skift Take

Um, kinda obvious, isn't it. Egypt's still in turmoil, will for a while, and cruise industry's whole business is built on bland normality.

Norwegian Cruise Line has canceled all calls on Egyptian ports through early 2014. The cancellations primarily affect several 10-night Norwegian Jade Eastern Mediterranean sailings, which will now call on Istanbul, Turkey and Naples, Italy, instead of Alexandria, Egypt, from November 6, 2013 to April 2, 2014. No reason was given.

The ship’s 11-night Eastern Mediterranean and the Holy Land sailings October 26, 2013 to April 12, 2014, have also been affected, though changes go well beyond just Egyptian ports of call.
