Many cruise ships offer so many similar features that companies are competing to find a way to distinguish themselves by offering high-end cuisine in a setting more spectacular than the average dining room.

Cruise ships’ vast, multistoried main restaurants, lavish buffets, and casual grills by the pool are key dining staples, but almost every line also offers alternatives for those who want a more upscale meal.
