Qantas is set to make a move into the accommodation sector, with the upcoming launch of a new travel accommodation website, Hooroo. The new online platform is aimed at providing users in Australia with travel ideas, tips and lots of accomodation listings as well. From the company: “Hooroo is a new kind of travel website. Untold stories, inside tips and thousands of places to stay in Australia at awesome rates… and that’s just for starters. We’re here to inspire travel and to help you find the perfect place to stay on your next trip.”
Every new travel site is a new kind of travel site. How Qantas competes with specialists/startups in online rentals/shares remains to be seen, though it has the advantage of packaging deals with air reservations.
