Any reliable standards need to be enacted with the understanding that even fantastic hotels may fall short because of the demands of their location and clientele.
Hotels are expending great effort on green initiatives and accreditation but, unfortunately for travellers, there has been no single scheme or approach.
That could change, for carbon measurement at least, if a new standard is widely accepted by hotels and effectively promoted.
