Costa Cruises has recently announced their response … to the Concordia tragedy. They have new operational and readiness procedures. Some are good new initiatives, some adoption of existing cruise industry standards, some are commonsense changes, and some miss the mark or are merely “window dressing.”
The embattled line will improve navigation equipment and keep passengers off the bridge, but it needs to require passengers to attend muster drills, not just suggest it.
