InterContinental Hotels goes on record to clear up yet another speculation surrounding the company.

Amid published reports that InterContinental Hotels Group is exploring strategies for a possible sale or merger, a spokesperson for the company issued a statement Friday denying any such plans.

“Following recent market speculation, the Board of Directors of IHG states that it is not considering a potential sale or merger of the company,” the spokesperson said via email.

IHG is no stranger to rumors this year, with similar chatter earlier this year regarding a possible merger with Starwood. IHG denied any such deal in July.

“Following recent market speculation, the board of directors of IHG states that it is not in talks with Starwood with a view to a combination of the businesses,” InterContinental said in a statement.

Additional rumors are circling that the hotel company is pursuing a deal to purchase Fairmont Hotels & Resorts.
