We thought social trip planners were a thing of the past.

Each week we create a roundup of travel startups that have received or announced funding that week. The total amount raised this week was a little more than $7 million.

Here are twocompanies that announced they raised funding this week, listing in order of highest amount raised. See previous roundups here.

>> CreateTrips raised a seed round of $1.4 million from Butterfly Ventures, S3, Frontier and angel investors.

CreateTrips is a Helsinki-based mobile travel startup that launched in summer 2014. Its social trip planner that allows users to share plans with friends and includes mobile travel guides created by travel bloggers and travel-related businesses.

>> Citymaps raised $6 million from new investors Nokia Growth Partners, Coatue Management and Acadia Woods in addition to existing investors including Ashton Kutcher and A-Grade Investments. This brings the mapping startup’s total funding to $11 million.

In addition to providing, yes, a map, users can also use the Citymaps’ Android and iOS apps to search, save, and share points of interests. City maps also provides data including information on venues, users and user maps to businesses through its API.

>> Options Away raised $3.5 million from new investor OCA Ventures and existing investors Thayer Ventures and Pritzker Group Venture Capital. This brings the startup’s total funding to $5.5 million.

Options Away lets travelers hold flights for two to 14 days for a small fee. Travelers can commit and buy the fare within the allotted time or let the hold expire without further penalty.
