American Air has become a model for how old companies can embrace new mediums to improve relations with its customers.

For the past two years, American Airlines has been leading the way for airline brands on social media, and its Social Media Director wants to tell you how.

American Air’s Jonathan Pierce spoke at the Skift Global Forum in October, and below he explains how the airline made social media work where others failed.

The Skift Global Forum is a creative business forum, with carefully curated topics and speakers to inspire the professionals in travel about the business and creative promise of sector. The inaugural event took place at the New York Times Center in October 2014, featuring nearly two dozen speakers and over 400 attendees.

This coming year, the Forum will remain in New York, but will cross the river to Brooklyn. We’ll be hosting the event in Duggal Greenhouse from October 14-15. Share your email to be alerted when tickets go on sale.
