The Rise of the Emerging Market Traveler Sponsored This content is created collaboratively with one of our sponsors.
Despite stalled growth in China, Brazil and Russia, a wave of newly middle-class travelers from the BRICs and beyond will start visiting international destinations in the coming decades — dwarfing the numbers we’ve seen thus far.
When the Luxury Collection hires someone to go see the world and blog about it, they don’t turn to the Internet for a blogger, they turn to the runway.
As an ambassador for the group, Christensen travelled through Peru to photograph the destination, which was then displayed at Bleecker Street Arts Club in an exhibit titled Visual Journey Peru.
The photographs will be auctioned through Gavel & Grand, a platform that represents philanthropic auctions online. Funds raised from the exhibition will benefit Oxfam International, a charity Christensen has worked with for several years.
Helena Christensen said: “Exploring Peru with The Luxury Collection was particularly special because they uncovered hidden treasures of the country that I have never experienced before. The thought of being a global explorer is so thrilling, and is the perfect job for me.”
The Luxury Collection, St. Regis and W Hotels Worldwide global brand leader Paul James said: “Through her photography, and throughout her career as a model, Helena Christensen has always shared a singular perspective on the world around her. We are thrilled to work with her as our newest Global Explorer, and look forward to inspiring travelers together to experience and celebrate the world’s great destinations.”
Christensen previously partnered with The Luxury Collection as a contributor to the brand’s Latin America Destination Guide offering insider insights and travel tips.
