Business travelers have always clamored for websites and apps that are as functional as those for leisure travelers. As testament to the further blending of business and leisure travel, Egencia is offering mobile-only hotel deals to satisfy the last-minute whims of road warriors.

Business travelers need lots of flexibility when a last-minute meeting gets changed or a new one pops up so Expedia’s corporate travel brand, Egencia, plans to introduce mobile-only hotel deals for users of its Egencia TripNavigator iPhone app.

Business travelers working for Egencia clients would be able to access these mobile-only hotel deals with discounts of 10% to 50% off published rates for 7,200 properties around the world beginning in the next week or so.

Mobile-only deals are becoming more common, but the Egencia variety come with a twist: More than a third of the properties are offering same-day cancellations and loyalty points.

“These are subject to the terms the hotel partner sets,” says Kristin Treat, an Egencia spokesperson. “If the mobile-only hotel deal allows for same-day cancellation then the traveler can book it and cancel it the same day without penalty.”

There will be some overlap between Egencia’s mobile-only deals and those of Expedia.com.

“All mobile hotel deals we will offer are exclusive to Expedia and Egencia,” Treat says. “With our deals, some are rates with Expedia and some are exclusive to Egencia and rates we have secured directly with hotel partners for our business travel clients.
