The 1,070-passenger Crystal Serenity recently emerged from a $17 million makeover that included the addition of a chef’s herb garden, a new casual restaurant and 70 hypoallergenic cabins.

For cruisers who suffer from allergies, 70 of the ship’s cabins were transformed to be chemical- and odor-free PURE accommodations – in what the line says is an industry first. In addition to remodeling, the ship also received both environmental and mechanical upgrades, officials said.
