Lufthansa Copies British Airways and Starts Charging for Seat Reservations

The fee will only hit flyers who choose the most basic of Lufthansa’s airfares. It actually benefits loyalty customers and flyers with higher fares who were not previously able to reserve a seat, for free or a cost.

Although Lufthansa has yet to make an official announcement, Business Traveller can reveal that passengers flying both short- and medium-haul routes will soon be paying an advance seat reservation (ASR) fee should they wish to pre-reserve their favourite seat.
