Southwest Passengers Who Are No-Shows Will Now Be Penalized
Many consider this a sensible change of policy for Southwest, but it is a further confirmation that the once-maverick airline is becoming a little less so.

Starting today, Southwest Airlines’ passengers must notify the carrier if they plan to skip a flight.
Welcome to the carrier’s new “no show” policy. If travelers with nonrefundable fares or a portion of those fares that are not used, canceled or changed at least 10 minutes before departure, they will lose the unused portion of full fares and the remaining reservation will be canceled.
