Skift Take

Nice high profile PR stunt for Ikea (look, we're writing about it!) and Charles De Gaulle become less harrowing. Can we bring this to U.S. permanently for us economy class plebeians?

Ikea has signed on to create and furnish a pop-up lounge in Terminal 3 at the Roissy-Charles de Gaulle Airport near Paris. It will be free, open to all passengers —mainly economy– and of course decked with all Ikea furnishings. There’ll be an Ikea bed located in one of the 9 bedrooms for a short nap, among other facilities. It opens today and will close Aug 5.

From Ikea’s release: Because waiting time in the boarding area is on average 1 hour and 43 minutes, IKEA wanted its expertise in interior design to serve the economy class.
